First of all, I want to thank you for your interest in my soap company. My name is Kathy and I am the owner of Owyhee (oh-WYE-hee) Soap Company located in Nyssa, Oregon. It is a very small, rural, farm community in Eastern Oregon surrounded by the scenic high-desert canyon which lead to the famous Owyhee River and Reservoir. I am a mother, wife, grandmother, and animal lover. I love sunrises, sunsets, and just about everything outdoors.
Did you know our skin is our largest organ in our bodies?…But yet sometimes we do not take care of it like we should.
I have always loved using natural products but found them impossible to find in my rural little town. I have always struggled with dry, cracked, itchy, sensitive skin and my condition got worse as I aged. Years ago, unable to find products on the market that worked for my skin, I set out researching information to make my own products. This led me to essential oils and growing my own plant-based ingredients which I used for many purposes.
As I learned more about the unhealthy use of chemicals in products we use in our everyday lives, I was determined to “get back to the basics.” My adventure in this knowledge took me to soap making using natural oils, butters, herbs, and plants, like our ancestors used in the past.
My handcrafted soaps are carefully made in small batches from scratch using oils, butters, and other wholesome ingredients that are essential to healthy skin.
It is very important to me to make my soap and other beauty products using the very best wholesome ingredients that I either grow myself in my garden and greenhouse, or from the best suppliers I can find. My goal is not only make products that pamper your skin, but also to make each bar a work of art.
